چکیده

Focal atrial tachycardia (AT) is the least common type of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), which could be successfully treated with catheter radiofrequency ablation (CA) in majority of patients. P-wave morphology (PWM) of the surface electrocardiogram (ECG) has been proved a very helpful tool to predict the localization of focal AT. Some studies demonstrated that ATs of the left-sided pulmonary veins (PV) and left atrial appendage (LAA) manifested broader, notched P-wave in lead V1 and/or in the inferior leads, compared with ATs of right-sided pulmonary veins origin. The current study presented that AT of the right inferior pulmonary vein origin exhibited a broader, notched P-wave in lead V1. The patient had been successfully treated with CA and no recurrence events were detected during the subsequent follow-up.

Left Superior Pulmonary Vein Rhythm Masquerading as Sinus Rhythm

A 55 year old male with a history of frequent symptomatic episodes of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) for four years was referred to us for catheter ablation. He had earlier tried flecainide and sotalol. However he was unresponsive to both of them. The echocardiogram was normal. Figure 1, left panel demonstrates his baseline electrocardiogram. The relatively slow rate and regularity of this...

Arrhythmias in Patients With Pulmonary Hypertension; A Narrative Review of the Current Literature

Incidence and prognostic relevance of supraventricular arrhythmias were evaluated in nine studies. These studies investigated patients with different forms of pulmonary hypertension. Supraventricular arrhythmias were more often found in patients with group two pulmonary hypertension. Common findings in these patients were elevated right atrial pressure and diameters and reduced tricuspid annula...

Pulmonary vein tachycardia: is the sinus rhythm P-wave useful.

Correspondence: Dr P. M. Kistler, The Heart Centre, The Alfred Hospital Commercial Road, Melbourne, Australia 3004 E-mail: [email protected] Focal atrial tachycardia (AT) accounts for up to 15% of patients referred for electrophysiologic study for supraventricular tachycardia SVT.1 Tachycardia foci do not occur randomly throughout the atria but rather cluster at predefined anatomic ...

Functional Pulmonary Vein Isolation During Atrial Fibrillation Ablation.

We report a case of apparent isolation of the right inferior pulmonary vein during atrial fibrillation ablation coincident with the onset of an atrial tachycardia. This report highlights the importance of assessing pulmonary vein conduction during sinus or paced rhythm at relatively long cycle length, rather than in atrial fibrillation or atrial tachycardia.

P-Wave Morphology in Focal Atrial Tachycardia

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to perform a detailed analysis of the P-wave morphology (PWM) in focal atrial tachycardia (AT) and construct and prospectively evaluate an algorithm for identification of the anatomic site of origin. BACKGROUND Although smaller studies have described the PWM from particular anatomic locations, a detailed algorithm characterizing the likely location of a ...
